about us

Social Labour Supply Ltd was established in February 2018 with the desire to help Māori and Pasifika succeed on their journey to finding rewarding and sustainable employment.

Founder and current Managing Director - Courtenay Hurt-Suwan spent many years working in the Auckland Construction/ Infrastructure Labour Hire Industry as an HR Manager. The Construction/ Infrastructure Labour hire industry works with a predominantly Māori and Pasifika workforce who face multiple barriers to employment; this mahi opened her up to the second chance opportunities that the labour-hire industry can provide but also the negative effects that precarious work can have on our whānau if the right support structures are not in place.

With a strong understanding of changes needed in the landscape of the construction labour-hire industry, Social Labour Supply Limited developed a strategy to deliver services that support all stakeholders on this journey- this includes schools, employers, training providers and government agencies.  The introduction of Social Procurement contract clauses that bridge capacity and capability gaps for the most at-risk demographics within the workforce support the development of our mahi.

We established departments with a clear focus to support Social Labour Supply Ltd staff. We also work with local, national employers, government agencies and private training establishments by offering these services externally. External services will ensure high-quality support is available to all whānau that require support as they commence their journey to long-term, sustainable employment.
